We Ask a Pyrotechnician About His Favourite Display
Which Sports Events Do We Provide Fireworks and Pyrotechnics For?
Since launching Titanium Fireworks in 2013, we’ve fired pyrotechnics for a huge variety of national events, many of them large-scale sports events like boxing matches, football games, rugby match finales and even the London 2012 Olympic Games.
In fact, in 2022, we delivered the fireworks and pyrotechnics for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Titanium Fireworks was responsible for designing and choreographing various pyrotechnic features to enhance the narrative of the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. We fired a number of sequences — including the start of the athlete’s parade, the raising of the flag and the closing of the ceremony with a pyromusical display.
We also fired daylight displays for the opening matches of The Hundred at the Oval and the EPCR Rugby Finals at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Our team of technicians has fired flames and pyrotechnics from the roof of various stadiums and sequenced synchronised pyrotechnics to a soundtrack.
The firework displays for these large sporting events utilised specialist, zero-debris pyrotechnics to make these energising features safe for everyone involved, without compromising on entertainment.
How Our Fireworks and Pyrotechnics Displays Work
Our firework displays are tailored around you and your budget, so we design them with your vision in mind.
Whether it’s for athletes coming out onto the pitch or celebrating a match win, firework displays are the best way to make it a sporting event to remember for your audience.
We use a professional firing system called FireOne, which we’ve used for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies, and the London New Year’s Eve fireworks, as well as many others.
With many of these events, firing from the arena or structure is one of the biggest considerations. This is because gaining permission to fire pyrotechnics from large buildings and stadiums is not a straight-forward task. There’s often architects and civil engineers in the mix, who need to see calculations of the forces exerted by our equipment before signing off on the plan.
Sometimes details of the chemical compositions of the pyrotechnics needs to be inspected to ensure that no damage is done to ancient stonework, too.
At Titanium Fireworks, we’re accustomed to dealing with any such queries to ensure that all parties can be certain that what we are doing is safe — not just for the audience, but also for the sports ground arenas or stadium.

Why Choose Titanium Fireworks for Sports Event fireworks?
Titanium Fireworks is a well established pyrotechnics display company with a strong reputation for delivering awe-inspiring fireworks for a range of sporting events.
We’re also very familiar with the ins and outs of large scale, national events with a lot of moving parts. For example, at the London Olympics in 2012, our teams put significant time into planning and delivering a great show for such a prestigious event. We fired pyrotechnics from the stadium roof from 56 firing positions across 3 locations — over the heads of an 80,000 strong audience, 2,500 athletes and 4,500 performers.
Taking into account the large crowds for these types of events, temporary structures to rig from, and weather conditions isn’t an easy task. But we deliver on the creative element, as well as planning and developing the technical aspects of such complex events — including transport logistics for our pyrotechnics, permits to work, risk assessments and licensing.
